21/07/2021

A 46-page Visitor Guide to Swindon is now available free on digital publishing platform ISSUU.

Edited by the Visit Swindon team, the guide offers an overview of all the great leisure and entertainment options Swindon has to offer. Locals may find some hidden gems they were unaware of, but the main target audience is visitors from neighbouring cities and towns or holidaymakers in the South West.

Visit Swindon coverSwindon is a modern and diverse town steeped in heritage and blessed with an array of beautiful green spaces.

Typical of that mix of the new and the old is the Designer Outlet, not only the South West's leading outlet village, but housed in lovingly repurposed buildings of the iconic Great Western Railway works, a mere 5 minute walk from the historic Railway Village.

Other attractions the Guide focuses on include Coate Water Country Park, Richard Jefferies Museum, Lydiard Park, STEAM - Museum of the Great Western Railway (next to the Designer Outlet), Roves Farm and The Museum of Computing.

For visitors who want to stay overnight there is full information on accommodation, including the charming Blunsdon House Hotel, the imposing Alexandra House and the town-centre chains like Jurys Inn, DoubleTree by Hilton and Central Travelodge.

Another thing that Swindon is not short of is great places to eat and the town's restaurants reflect its cosmopolitan population, from Indian (The Jewel in the Crown) to Spanish (Los Gatos), Caribbean (Moshan Island Grill) and Italian (Gaetano's).

The Guide also has plenty of information on Swindon's dazzling hinterland, with picture postcard villages, forests, lakes and ancient monuments all just a short hop away.

Whether it's history or high jinks, muddy boots or designer shoes, the brand-new Visitor Guide makes it clear that Swindon really does have something for everyone!
