As summers start to shine this year, the team at Swindon Independent Film Festival are in full swing preparing for this year's festival.
Founded in 2018, the festival will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. This year brings a new team to the running order of the festival, taking over from the festival's founder, Doug Kirby.
Since being founded in 2018, the festival has continued to grow, with films being submitted from around the UK, and from around the world.
This year saw an increase in film submissions: from animations to documentaries, from short films to feature-length, the calibre of films submitted has been fantastic. The film festival team are now announcing the official selection for this year's event.

An amazing 46 films will be shown at this year's week-long event taking place at the end of July. Commenting on the official selection, Bobbie Brandybuck and Oliver Rogers, festival directors, said: "The quality of films that we have had submitted to us this year has been incredible. Choosing the official selection was not an easy process. However, after much debate and discussion with the team, we are proud to announce our official selection for this year."
The festival will take place during the last week of July, showing a number of films each evening throughout the week. Doors open at 6 pm each evening with screenings finishing by 10:30 pm.
The film festival will take place at Artsite in Theatre Square. For more information about this year's selection, and to purchase tickets, visit the Swindon Film Festival website: swindonfilmfestival.co.uk
