Swindon Theatres are thrilled to announce the return of the town’s much-loved Family Fun Day to the Wyvern Theatre this October half-term.

On Wed 27 October, from 10am – 2pm, the Wyvern will be opening its doors for a morning of fantastic free family fun, with activities ranging from character appearances and storytime, to crafts and competitions, all themed around our giant of a pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk.

Wyvern fun day

This year, Swindon Theatres will be joined by friends from Prime Theatre, who be hosting a panto-packed session of drama games and storytelling skills exploring Jack and his legendary adventure, and Tanwood School of Performing Arts, who will be facilitating an udder-ly silly Moooove It Like Daisy Dance Workshop where children aged 7-12 will be taught a simple routine to everyone’s favourite party hit ‘I Like To Move It’.

These sessions have limited availability and require participants to pre-register by emailing Kate Claxton (Community and Education Officer) at

The Wyvern Family Fun Day will be raising money for the hire of a Mobiloo facility for our relaxed performance of Jack and the Beanstalk.

The Mobiloo is a fully mobile toilet unit that comes complete with a changing bench and a hoist, providing those with disabilities a more accessible and dignified facility than many fixed toilets can offer them. The availability of the Mobiloo during our relaxed performance on Fri 10 December will allow many families to make the difference between missing out and making memories, please do come and get involved in our fundraising activities.

Everyone is welcome, so bring all the family and enjoy some free theatrical fun!
