08/04/2022

If you want to know what’s on in Swindon this Easter, then we have got you covered. Our vibrant town has much more than people realise, not only do we have many areas of natural beauty and historic attractions, but there are also plenty of choices if the weather doesn’t work in your favour or you want to keep an eye on pennies. There really is something for everyone in Swindon this half term.

Easter egg hunts

With so much green space in Swindon it works well for easter egg hunts! The National Trust is hosting an Easter adventure at White Horse Hill. Their family-friendly trail includes fun activities for you to do along the way and you get your chocolate egg at the end. The trail runs from Friday 15 to Monday 18 April, from 10.30am to 4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm and the cost is only £3 per child, so come and explore the wide-open spaces and far-reaching views at White Horse Hill

The beautiful Town Gardens will also be doing an Easter Egg Trail on Sat 16 April between 10am-2pm. Tickets can be purchased on the day, but with only 300 available buy now to avoid disappointment. Tickets are £3.50, why not explore their glorious flower ladened gardens after your adventure and enjoy a light refreshment at their onsite café at this Victorian styled park.

Perhaps you fancy something a bit different, Swindon and Cricklade railway are hosting an Easter egg hunt from Friday 15 April until Monday 18 April, so hop on board and spot the eggs on the traditional steam train. It’s a great day out for all the family and somewhere that you can visit again as they do events all year around.

If the weather lets you down, why not celebrate Easter at Swindon's most loved farm park, Roves Farm! Follow their Easter bunny trail which takes you along their grassy paths and animal paddocks. You can also meet the animals as you follow the trail to find the clues to lead you to the Easter bunny's house!

Or you could run undercover in one of the beautiful state rooms of Lydiard House. Lydiard House Museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm from Saturday, 9 April (last admission 3.30pm) and rumour has is there are many fun Easter activities planned for all ages this holiday.
