The creative team behind the Visit Swindon website and social media are always looking for ways to promote and attract people to our historic and hip hometown. That mission hasn’t changed, though the impact of coronavirus dictate a change of emphasis as visitors adapt their behaviour to ‘the new normal’.
Building on Visit Swindon’s heritage message, Swindon Borough Council’s ‘Bouncing Back’ campaign and the efforts of the recently formed Swindon Tourism Group, Visit Swindon has produced a brand-new video, designed to showcase what Swindon has to offer whilst at the same time reassuring people that all the safety measures you would expect to be in place during the pandemic are up and running.
The video shows the itinerary of a (safely masked) young couple enjoying an overnight stop in Swindon at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Swindon, taking in the Great Western Railway Village, STEAM Museum, the Designer Outlet, Wagamama, the Brunel Centre, The Crossing, Old Town, Deacons jewellers (the second oldest business in Swindon after Arkell’s Brewery), Los Gatos for Spanish tapas, and finally The Vault for classic cocktails.
Nathan Sandhu, Creative Director of brand and design agency Jazzbones Creative, and a member of Swindon Tourism Group says: “The video makes clear that Swindon is very much open for business and is still a great destination - and above all, a safe destination - whether it’s shopping, heritage, or wining and dining that takes your fancy.”
