The Circus is Coming to Town!

The Merchant's house is delighted to offer the first of two afternoon classical piano concerts to delight and engage children and adults alike. The first concert is The Circus is Coming to Town, to get us in the mood for the arrival of Gifford's Circus on Marlborough Common, this performance will embrace music that celebrates all things Circus! Kim Emery, local professional pianist, teacher and accompanist, will perform a selection of genres including "Entry of the Gladiators" by Fucik, "Maple Leaf Rag" by Joplin, "Wilkommen" by J. lander, "The Entertainer" by Joplin, "Music box dancer" by F.Miss, "Die Fledermaus themes" by Strauss to name a few!

Children (and their accompanying adults!) are invited to come dressed in the theme of the circus, there will be a prize for the best costume or hat design. During the interval you will be served refreshments also on a circus theme. Weather permitting this will be served in the Merchant's House, beautiful 17th century inspired garden.
