Tchaikovsky’s music has a well-earned reputation for oozing romance and drama and this concert will be no exception. The concert includes his genius Violin Concerto, performed by prize winning soloist Jonian-Ilias Kadesha. The piece is widely considered one of the most important works in the history of Romantic music and is implicitly linked with Tchaikovsky’s emotional turmoil. Then follows the lush Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture; for many the perfect illustration of the fate of those star-cross’d lovers.?The performance concludes with a sensuous Suite from his best-loved ballet Swan Lake.
