We are delighted to confirm that our Christmas extravaganza will be returning this December!

Enjoy plenty of sparkles as you step into a wonderland of over 50 Christmas market stalls set amidst our award-winning museum displays and iconic GWR locomotives.

The weekend will be a joyful celebration of the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional Christmas. This year, we welcome many new traders, as well as firm favourites.

Hand-crafted items on offer range from textile gifts, greetings cards, jewellery and cosmetics, to home furnishings, artworks, Christmas confectionery and decorations.

Santa will be making an appearance over the weekend with the return of his popular story-time sessions. Please see below for more details.

The safety of visitors, staff and volunteers remains our number one priority. A range of tried and tested measures will be in place to aid social distancing and maintain cleanliness.

Capacities are limited, so tickets for admission and Santa’s Storytime must be booked online in advance.

 

Opening Times

Saturday 4 December: 10:00 – 17:00 (last admission 16:00)

Sunday 5 December: 10:00 – 17:00 (last admission 16:00)

 

Santa’s Storytime

To complete the Christmas magic, Santa will be here on both days with his Storytime sessions.

Children will enjoy a festive story, plus a wrapped gift in the Museum’s specially staged, Hawksworth Hall.

Sessions cost £8.00 per child, in addition to the event admission price.

As a guide, we recommend that sessions are suitable for children between 3 and 10 years old.

 

Please note: in order to limit numbers, no more than one accompanying adult per child will be admitted to Santa’s Storytime.

Each session lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Sessions take place on 4 & 5 December at the following times:

10.15am, 11.00am, 11.45am, 13.00pm, 13.45pm, 14.30pm, 15.15pm, 16.00pm.
