WYVERN THEATRE

Wyvern Theatre wows all-comers with a winning mix of live entertainment

The 635-seat Wyvern Theatre in Swindon is named after the mythical wyvern that was once the emblem of the kings of Wessex. It was opened on September 7th, 1971 by the Queen and Prince Philip.

The theatre has entertained generations of theatre-goers with a showstopping variety of live entertainment and in 2017 it won an award as the Best Theatre in the South West.

Highlights for 2020 include the Russian State Ballet of Siberia, Havana Nights with Graziano Di Prima from Strictly Come Dancing, Swinging at the Cotton Club, Cirque Enfant and David Baddiel’s Trolls Not The Dolls.

Based in the town centre, there are plenty of choices for pre-theatre wining and dining, but if you are going for the full theatre experience, the Wyvern Theatre offers incredible hassle-free dining in its own brand-new restaurant.

As they say in the theatre, break a leg!
